Fictional character biography
He is the son of Midnight Man. After Moon Knight encountered Black Cat and Wilde,[1] Wilde partnered with Moon Knight and took the name Midnight.[2] While training his new sidekick, Moon Knight was targeted by the Secret Empire. In an attempt to eliminate Moon Knight for past confrontations with the criminal organization, the Secret Empire seemingly disintegrated Midnight with an energy blast. [3]
However, Midnight survived, maimed and disfigured, and was secretly captured and rebuilt as a cyborg by the Secret Empire. He would aid them in breaking Dr. Eliot Franklin (Thunderball) out of prison and capturing the Nova, he turned on them when he discovered he would be made obsolete by a new line of super-powered Secret Empire grunts. He teamed up with his nurse Lynne Church, who revealed herself to be a cyborg, the secret project of the deceased "Number One". The two were apparently destroyed in a battle with Moon Knight, Spider-Man, Darkhawk, The Punisher, Nova and Night Thrasher.[4]
A man began to kill innocent people and use their blood to form a clock pointing to midnight.[volume & issue needed] Though Moon Knight at first believed it to somehow be Wilde's father Mogart, the killer turned out to be Wilde, stronger than before and out for revenge. Moon Knight apparently finishes him off by impaling him through the skull with one of the hands of a large clock.[5]
Powers and abilities
Midnight possesses a cyborg body enhanced with rocket-powered feet, super-extensible arms, super-strength, and laser beams.
