Biography

In 1996, she published her first non-fiction book. Coco Schumann, the Ghetto-Swinger is the true story of a Jewish entertainer who survived the Nazi-Camps by playing for his life.[1]

Michaela began working as a journalist at the age of 16. Curious about what it would take to become a journalist, she simply walked into the offices of the Süddeutsche Zeitung, and was soon given a regular column to write book reviews and political features after school.

Immediately after completing her education as a journalist at the Deutsche Journalistenschule in Munich and earning her degree as master journalist from the University of Munich, she was offered the post of staff reporter for the renowned Seite Drei of the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Michaela caught the interest of television executives as a result of her profound, dynamic and witty print interviews. Her onscreen presence made her a natural for TV and at the age of 23 she started hosting “Live aus dem Alabama”, a very popular weekly 90 minute live talk-show for young people.[2]

In 1997, she left Germany to follow her passion for travelling and studying while working as a freelance correspondent from Nepal, Northern India and France. She enrolled at the University of Kathmandu, Nepal, to pursue studies of Sanskrit and Tibetan Buddhism for two years and has finished her PhD thesis in Asian studies at the University of Bonn in 2008.

In addition to her media career, Michaela is the founding owner of Haas live! Communication, Coaching, Consulting,[[3]] a successful coaching company which specializes in media and presentation training for business leaders and media professionals.
