- Michael Woodford (executive)
-
Michael C. Woodford, MBE (born 12 June 1960 ) is a British businessman and former president of Olympus Corporation.[1]
He was the first non-Japanese person to be appointed as the company's CEO.[2] Having been removed from that position after making public allegations that the company had paid excessive takeover fees to hide old losses, he is one of the most highly placed executives to turn whistleblower.[3] He returned to London, and offered to speak to investigators there rather than return immediately to Japan, out of concern for his personal safety.[4]
