Medal record Competitor for United States Men's sailing Olympic Games Gold 1952 Helsinki 5.5 metre Michael Schoettle (born 7 September 1936) is an American sailor and Olympic Champion. He competed at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki and won a gold medal in the 5.5 metre class, with the boat Complex II.[1]
His brother Ferdinand Schoettle competed in sailing at the 1956 Summer Olympics, where he finished 4th in the 5.5 metre class.
