Michael Perry (born 1964) is a writer and a humorist. Perry is a self described "Country Chronicler".[1] Perry has written three best selling memoirs.[2] He has also written for Esquire, The New York Times Magazine, Backpacker, Outside, and Salon.com.[3] Perry was born on a small farm in rural Wisconsin, and raised as part of an obscure, fundamentalist sect. Today he lives in Fall Creek, Wisconsin with his wife and two children. He has spent many years as a volunteer firefighter, which his first book chronicles. The majority of his writing discusses his farming background and life lessons. Perry was educated at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.[4] Perry is also host of Big Top Chautauqua's "Tent Show Radio".[5]
