Michael Parker is an American short story writer, novelist and journalist.

Life
His fiction has appeared in Five Points, Shenandoah, Carolina Quarterly, Epoch and The Georgia Review and has been anthologized in the Pushcart Prize Stories, the O. Henry Prize Stories and New Stories from the South. His nonfiction has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Runner's World and The Oxford American.
He lives in Greensboro, North Carolina and teaches courses in creative writing and literature at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.[1]
