Michael Hunt (inline hockey)

Michael Hunt is a professional roller hockey player, a 12 time National Champion and also a 5 time member of Team Canada. Michael won the Division 1 IIHF World Championship in 2008 with Team Canada.[1]

Hunt was born in Hamilton, Ontario and played his junior hockey in Winnipeg, Manitoba with the St James Canucks. He later spent 15 years living in the Boston, Massachusetts area but has since moved back to Canada.

He also founded and formed Team Rink Rat which holds the record in professional roller hockey winning 7 straight Pro National Championships never losing a game going 43-0-3 over the course of those championships. No other professional roller hockey team has ever come close to the dominance of Team Rink Rat. Team Rink Rat also won $173,000 US dollars over the course of their 7 championships, the most prize money ever won by a Pro roller hockey team.

Hunt is also regarded as the best over 40 year old inline player in the world[citation needed] with 5 scoring titles in the over 35 division of the NARCH (North American Roller Hockey Championship) tournaments. He still competes in various professional and over-35 tournaments in North America, and is also is captain of the Boston Swamp Rats AIHL pro team based in Boston, Massachusetts and has been for the past 3 years.
