Andrea Bonomi

Andrea Bonomi

Andrea Bonomi (Cassano d'Adda, Italy, February 14, 1923 - November 26, 2003) was a footballer with AC Milan football club. Born in Cassano d'Adda, Italy, and initially nicknamed as "Ciapin", Bonomi was the AC Milan captain in the 1950/1951 season, which ended with a Serie A triumph for the "rossoneri" led by the Gre-No-Li trio.

When Bonomi was six years old, something tragigal was about to happen in Adda River. Bonomi was nearly drowning when 10-year old kid saved him. Ironically, his saver was too a footballer in his later years. The guy, who saved Bonomi, was Valentino Mazzola - one of the greatest Italian players.

Bonomi played for the Italy national football team for just one match, in 1951, against Switzerland.
