Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Florina, of which it is a municipal unit.[1] The seat of the municipality was in Neochoraki.

Demographics
According to the 2001 census, the population of Meliti Municipality was 7,038 people.[2] The municipality has a mixed population of Slavophone Greeks and the descendants of Greek refugees from Asia Minor.[3][4]
