- Mehan Garden
-
Mehan Garden, formerly known as Jardin Botanico, was Asia's first botanical garden.[1][2] It is an open space established in 1858 in Manila, Philippines. In 1913, it was renamed after John C. Mehan, the park superintendent.[3]
The Garden is the open space off Liwasang Bonifacio (across the Philippine Post Office Main Building), bounded by Taft Avenue, LRT Central Terminal, the Metropolitan Theater, and Manila City Hall. It is considered a great location for an inner city park.[3] Inside the Garden are structures such as the Lawton Park n' Ride building and the Universidad de Manila.
