Plot
Season 3 was supposed to begin mid season, but NBC canceled the show Kidnapped and it began airing that November. This season was a brutal one, as Joe's office gets taken over by a madman who kills several co-workers and Allison gets exposed by a woman claiming to be out of town while all along she is a reporter. As usual, the first 15 or so episodes all deal with Allison solving crimes for the DA, but then things turn ugly as mentioned above in the episode Joe Day Afternoon he gets held up in his office and several co-workers get their lives taken. When Joe finally goes back to work, he has a hard time dealing with it. Lawyers call and offer him and each of the victims settlements, but eventually Joe leaves DyTech Industries. Meanwhile, Allison doesn't realize that the serial killer she is trying to catch has another helper and he gets out of jail. Debra, friendly at first turns out to be a very nasty lady and exposes Allison. After all is said and done Debra wouldn't listen to Allison and loses her life to the same serial killer. At the end of the season, both Devalos and Allison lose their jobs as the new DA Van Dyke takes over and this season leaves the viewer with a huge cliff hanger as to what Scanlon, Devalos, Joe, and Allison will do next season.
