Jean-Pierre Mazery (born 5 December 1942 in Paris) is the Grand Chancellor (and Foreign Minister) of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (SMOM), a post he has held since 2005.

Career

Mazery has been a Knight of Malta since 1975. On 16 April 2005, he was elected Grand Chancellor of the Order, following the resignation of H.E. Bailiff Count Jacques de Liedekerke. He was subsequently re-elected in 2009.^[1] In the Palazzo Malta, (Rome), he was first under the authority of Grand Master Andrew Bertie, and since 2008 under the authority of Grand Master Matthew Festing. Owing to his high office, he has been created a Knight of Obedience of the Order of Malta.

Personal life

Mazery is married to Christiane de Nicolay-Mazery, who is a writer.
