As a member of the Issaquah School District, students enter from Apollo, Briarwood, Maple Hills, and Newcastle elementary schools. The school mascot is the Charger and the school colors are Green and Gold. Maywood Middle School opened in 1969 and was completely renovated in 1999. MMS is the only middle school that serves Liberty High School.

Academics
As of 2010, Maywood has a current enrollment of 917[1] students with an attendance rate of 95.8%. As a result of the newly adopted math curriculum in 2009 known as Connected Math Program, all 8th grade students were able to complete high school Algebra before entering Liberty.
Extracurricular Activities
Maywood boasts a wide variety of critically acclaimed after school activities including Math Club, Extreme Strings Orchestra, Morning Workout, Yearbook, Leadership and Jazz Band.[2] During the 2009-2010 academic year, 70% of students participated in co-curricular and athletic programs.
"Walkabout Campus"
Maywood enjoys a lot of parent support. Trained volunteers "walkabout" campus to supervise and connect with students. Parents are trained in special strategies to assist students in reading and to assess student writing and math. VOICE mentors work one-on-one with at-risk students. PTSA membership is consistently over 85%.
2011-2012 Remodel/Addition
$17.1 Million dollar renovation began during the summer of 2011 Phase I: $13.2 Million dollar modernization and expansion project which includes the addition of two science labs, four classrooms, and expanded core facilities. Phase II includes a $3.9 million dollar renovation to the existing school and installation of a new track and artificial turf onto the football field.
