Maxlite

Maxlite

Maxlite is a company based in West Caldwell, New Jersey in the United States, which designs, manufactures and sells lighting products. The company sells consumer, commercial, and industrial lighting products including Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and Compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), and holds a number of patents in fluorescent technology.[1] Maxlite's competitors include Cree Inc., OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, Philips Lumileds Lighting Company and General Electric.

MaxLite was named as a 2009 U.S. Energy Star Partner of the Year for developing a low-mercury CFL.[2] While Maxlite's CFL bulbs are designed to minimize mercury levels, some of the company's competitors have developed bulbs with lower mercury levels.[3]

The company partners with Toshiba for research and development of its products.[4] Through collaboration the two companies have developed LEDs with 2700k color temperature, in order to more closely mimic the color of incandescent light bulbs.[4]
