Mawewe

Mawewe, or Maueva, was king of the Gaza Empire in modern Mozambique, who governed from 1858-1864. He succeeded his father, Manicusse, but was deposed by his brother Mzila with the support of the Portuguese, in a civil war which began in 1861 and ended in 1864.
