Maurice J McDonough High School is a high school or secondary school in Maryland and is run through the Charles County Public Schools system. It has approximately 1400 students and 80 employees.

The school, built in 1976,^[2] is named for Maurice James McDonough, who was an early educator in Charles County, Maryland.^[3]

Sports

3A State football champions in 1983, 1985, 1990, coached by Larry Johnson, Sr..^{[citation needed]}

McDonough won a 3A state golf title in 2004,^{[citation needed]} was the 2A football runner-up in 2006,^{[citation needed]} 2A softball runner-up in 2008,^{[citation needed]} and 2A softball State Champions in 2009.^{[citation needed]}

Principal Jervie Petty announced in 2009 that the official school anthem would be Purple Rain (song) by The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, in honor of the school's Purple colors.^{[citation needed]}
