Early life
Ganguly graduated in science from the University of Calcutta in her native city Kolkata, but then moved to Mumbai to do a Hotel Management course. She abandoned that course and moved on to gaining a Mass communication degree but left that one too mid way when she started getting offers for modelling.
Career
She started modelling and has been in a number of TV and print ads. She has modelled for products like Pears, Rin, Ariel, Close-Up, Double Diamond, Asian Paints, Sonam Quartz, Britannia, Maggie, Bombay Dyeing.
Ganguly got noticed by Balaji telefilms and in April 2001, she was casted as the lead role of Shaina on Star Plus's hit thriller soap opera Kaahin Kissii Roz. The highly rated show garnered her a lot of positive reviews about her noteworthy character and the show went on until September 2003. She later also starred in Kutumb and Kkusum. In 2004, Ganguly starred as the lead actress in a popular TV serial on Sony TV called Saaksshi, portraying the lead role opposite Samir Soni and Amit Sadh.
Mouli also appeared in the critically acclaimed movie Raincoat alongside Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgan.
In 2009 she appeared in hit dance show Nach Baliye alongside her boyfriend Mazhar Sayyed. She got noticed for her creative performances on the show but could not make it to the semi-finals.
Also, now she is modelling for Airfone Mobile Phornes
Mauli got married to her longtime beau Mazhar Sayyed recently.
