Matt Charman is a British playwright.
Charman was born on the 5 June 1979 in Crawley, West Sussex.[1]
His first play, A Night at the Dogs, was selected from over 700 entries to win the 2004 Verity Bargate Award.[2]
His second and third plays, The Five Wives of Maurice Pinder and The Observer have both premiered at the London's Royal National Theatre, where he has also served as Writer in Residence - he also collaborated with Moira Buffini, Penelope Skinner and Jack Thorne on Greenland (2011) at that venue.
He will also be partaking in the Bush Theatre's 2011 project Sixty Six where he has written a piece based upon a chapter of the King James Bible[3]
