In France
Matt lived and worked in France for 20 years, first working as a ski instructor and going on to run a television distribution and production company.
In Australia
In 2003 Matt joined SBS as Head of Programming, and was promoted to director of television and online content in 2006. Matt oversaw a number of key programming initiatives including the rise of sports broadcasting on the SBS (including the Ashes cricket, soccer and Tour de France) and development of a number of formats and franchises, including Top Gear, Heston’s Feasts, Iron Chef and Mythbusters (a number of which were acquired by commercial free-to-air broadcasters as they established their multichannels). Local content also became a forte under his watch with investments in Wilfred, RockWiz, Go Back To Where You Came From, First Australians, Immigration Nation and East West 101 all paying dividends. In 2006, Mr. Campbell became Director of Television and Online Content. [1] On the 5th of July 2011, Mr. Campbell resigned his position to become Managing Director of Shine Australia and New Zealand. Personal life
Matt Campbell married Josie Mason, executive producer of Australia's Next Top Model [3], on the 17th of November 2007 in Sydney. On the 3rd of March 2009 the couple welcomed the birth of their daughter Ginger. Campbell also has two sons Charlie and Max from a previous marriage who live in France. Matt has an older sister Natalie and three younger half siblings Lorne, Eleanor and Hilary.
