The Maserati Kubang is a crossover SUV concept from Maserati which was officially presented at the 2011 Frankfurt car show.[1]
The vehicle is based on the platform of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, but is equipped with a typical Maserati body with a prominent grille, front fender vents and LED headlights. 2013 model year production will be at Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly in Detroit.[2]
Maserati is very enthusiastic about their new unveiled model and wrote that "with the birth of every new Maserati car, Maserati itself is reborn." [3]
The engines will be produced by Chrysler and by Ferrari.
2003 concept car
Already in 2003, Maserati had presented a concept car called Maserati Kubang. It had not been put into production.
