Maryam Khan

Maryam Khan is a British politician born in Manchester, belonging to the Labour Party who has served as the Councillor of Longsight after being elected in May 2006. A solicitor by profession, Maryam Khan is a Muslim by religion and of Pakistani descent. She comes from a family with a well-established political background, with her grandfather having been a counciller in Pakistan and her father M. Afzal Khan having served as the first Muslim Lord Mayor of the city of Manchester from 2005 to 2006.[1]
