Babes Cajayon (born in 1956) is a renowned author of Tagalog popular romance novels in the Philippines. Cajayon used the pen name Martha Cecilia, a nom de plume she adopted from her daughter. Her trademark in pocketbook writing are novels with happy endings.[1] She is the writer for the bestselling Kristine series, that has been adopted as a television series. Cajayon was born in Dapitan City in Zamboanga del Norte, Mindanao, and was a resident of Kabacan, North Cotabato. She has four children.[1]

Education
Cajayon studied at the University of the East and from Conchita Bernardo's Karilagan Finishing School in Sta. Mesa, Manila.[1]
Career
Cajayon began her writing career in the popular romance genre after having a chance meeting with Filipino writer Olga Medina. Apart from Olga Medina, Cajayon was also influenced by the works of Edgardo M. Reyes another Filipino writer, and by foreign writers such as Sandra Brown, Judith McNaught, Dalton Trumbo (particularly by the anti-war book Johnny Got His Gun), Sun Tzu (author of the Art of War), Robert Greene (author of The 48 Laws of Power).[1] Cajayon was the cofounder of the Love Match line of paperbacks, after writing for Precious Heart Romance.[1]
