Markinsenis Peak

Markinsenis Peak (71°35′S 164°29′E / 71.583°S 164.483°E / -71.583; 164.483) is a peak (1,790 m) on the south side of McCann Glacier at its junction with Lillie Glacier, in the Bowers Mountains. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-64. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for radioman Ronald Markinsenis, U.S. Navy, of the South Pole Station winter party, 1965.
