Mark Jackson (born 4 September 1976, Scarborough, Ontario) is a Canadian musician and songwriter.

Mark Jackson began his recording career in the summer of 1994 at the age of 17 by renting and borrowing as much equipment as he could lay his hands on. From those sessions Jackson manage to complete only 2 songs “Stranger” and “Life Blood”. He released them as a cassette single on September 18 of 1994 by forming his own label, Artists and Poets Productions. At that time Mark was releasing music under the pseudonym C’lan (pronounced kuh-lan)

Though not a big success, the single did give Mark enough momentum to keep writing and recording. Needing to work to provide an income to build his studio, it would be two and a half years before his first full length album would be released. On February 23, 1997, Mark again using the alias C’lan released the 10 song album of the same name. Now referred to as C’lan 96 because of the year it was largely recorded.

Still performing very few live shows, the album struggled to find an audience and was never released outside of Canada. It was once again back to a day job to self finance the next project.

This time it would be more than 4 years before the next release. In June 2001 a 13 track, all original album titled “I Don’t Know Where To Start” was released. The record was again released under Mark’s nom de plume, C’lan. This marks the first time one of Jackson’s albums was released internationally. Picking up speed, but still not doing any live performance, it would be another 2 and a half years before Mark’s next record.

C’lan – Fearless was released on October 28, 2003 and was again distributed internationally. The album featured another 13 original tracks, 2 of them are instrumental.

It would be another 4 years before Jackson finally started performing live, acoustically in 2007. At the same time he dropped the C’lan moniker, now using simply Mark Jackson. He also started recording all of his performances. On November 27 of 2009, Early Morning was released.
