Mark Finan is the Chief Meteorologist at the NBC affiliate in Sacramento, California, KCRA-TV. He also is the chief meteorologist at KCRA-TV's sister station, KQCA-TV. He replaced Shelly Monahan as Chief Meteorologist in 1997.

Background

Mark got interested in weather while he was growing up. After studying weather at University of Utah, Mark started his television career in Portland, Maine. Mark also worked at WHEC-TV in Rochester, New York. He came to Sacramento's KCRA-TV in 1991 as a meteorologist.

Mark is one of the first in the country to earn the status of Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society. He has been named 'Best TV Weather Person' by Sacramento Magazine in the Best Of section every year since 2001.
