Marion Economic Development Company

The Marion Economic Development Company (MEDCO) is located in Marion, Iowa. Incorporated in 1984, MEDCO has coordinated economic development activities within the community. This includes retaining and expanding the business base in Marion. Over the past 25 years, MEDCO has helped advance economic development within the City of Marion.

MEDCO is a nonprofit, served by a Board of Directors from the surrounding community. The MEDCO Board of Directors is composed of 20 volunteers who serve three year terms. MEDCO board members represent all sectors of the Marion Community. Also, the board is served by 8 Ex-Officio members representing the City of Marion, Priority One, the Marion Chamber of Commerce, Linn County and Kirkwood Community College.

MEDCO is currently working with the city of Marion on an 184-acre (0.74 km2) industrial park east of the Marion Airport. MEDCO is also working closely with many local supporting organizations to help expand economic development in Marion.
