Margaret Anne Florence is an actress, singer, and model based in New York City. Margaret Anne has been featured in major motion pictures, television, independent films, and on the New York stage.[1] She frequently appears in national and international television commercials and print advertisements.[2] Margaret Anne is a member of SAG (the Screen Actors Guild), AFTRA, and AEA (the Actors' Equity Association).

The Mighty Macs

Margaret Anne will co-star as Rosemary Keenan, alongside Carla Gugino and Ellen Burstyn, in The Mighty Macs,[3] based on the true story of Basketball Hall of Fame coach Cathy Rush, who led Immaculata University to the 1972 National Women's Collegiate Championship.[4] Scheduled for release in 2010, The Mighty Macs won both the Best Feature and Audience Award at the John Paul II International Film Festival in Miami,[5] and was an Official Selection at the Heartland Film Festival and two other independent film festivals.[6] Margaret Anne can be seen in the movie's official trailer, which was released in September 2009.[7]

In 2009, she played the role of 'Alexis Danella' in Kevin Costner's horror-thriller The New Daughter.[9]

Blue Bloods

Margaret Anne will appear in the upcoming CBS drama Blue Bloods alongside Tom Selleck, Bridget Moynihan, and Donnie Walberg.[10] Entertainment Weekly's annual Fall TV Preview named Blue Bloods, which debuts on September 24, as a one of the "5 Best New Shows" of 2010.[11]

Margaret Anne had a recurring, three-episode arc as 'Marlene' during Guiding Light's penultimate season in 2007 and 2008. She also had roles in in Law & Order in the 18th season-finale, Excalibur, in 2008; White Collar on the USA Network in the 1st season episode Flip of the Coin[12] in 2009,; and Showtime's Nurse Jackie in the 2nd season episode Apple Bong in 2010.[13]

The Light in the Piazza

Margaret Anne was cast in the lead role of Clara Johnson in the The Light in the Piazza,[14] in the 2005 Tony Award winning[15] musical's March–April 2010 production at Arena Stage.

The Fantasticks

Beginning on July 21, 2008, Margaret Anne starred as 'Luisa' in the revival of the famous Broadway musical The Fantasticks at the Snapple Theater Center (renamed the Jerry Orbach Theater during this run as a credit to that actor's role in the original musical).[16][17] Margaret Anne's final performance as Luisa took place on December 17, 2008.[18]

Margaret Anne also appeared in regional productions of Godspell, Little Shop of Horrors, Maccabeat!, Company, Street Scene (based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play by Elmer Rice), and Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris.[19]

Other Acting

Margaret Anne starred in Death Cab for Cutie's music video for What Sarah Said[20] from the band's 2005 studio album, Plans. The What Sarah Said video was included in the band's 2006 DVD, Directions: The Plans Video Album,[21] which was nominated for Best Long Form Music Video at the 2007 Grammy Awards.[22][23]

Personal Background

Margaret Anne received a Masters in Music Theatre Performance, cum laude, from New York University and a B.A. in Music/Classical Voice, cum laude, from the College of Charleston. She received the Bishop Robert Smith Award, the highest undergraduate honor at the College of Charleston. In 2009, Margaret Anne was honored with the College of Charleston's Young Alumna of the Year Award.[24]

She was born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina.
