Liepāja, LatviaNationality Latvian Mareks Jurevičus (born January 17, 1985 in Liepāja, Latvia) is a professional basketball player, who plays the Shooting guard, Small forward position. He's currently playing for the Italian Legadue Basket club Ostuni Basket.
Excellent three-point shooting including many big shots in crunch time - this is the main strength of Liepāja-born Mareks Jurevičus . As a junior he spent a few seasons in his hometown team where was a real leader and made 19.2 points per game the in Latvian League and 16.4 points per game in 2008. Last summer Jurevičus made his first steps with the national team with a strong limited role and playing time. After then he went to Ventspils and got some more experience at the highest level. His statistics took a turn for the worse (11.9 points per game in the Baltic League) but his skills are still improving. At the end of the season Jurevičus was named MVP of the Latvian Play-offs.
He has represented Latvia national team in EuroBasket 2011.[1]
