- Marcy's Geyser
-
Marcy's Geyser is located in Reno, Nevada at 39° 31' 47" N / 119° 48' 46" W. The Geyser was first discovered on February 19, 1891. The geyser is currently used to heat the water of a neighboring apartment complex, so about thirty years ago, it was covered by a parking lot. Few people knew that the geyser existed there, until a leak sprang up and steam rose from the ground. The first person to spot the steam was Marcy Swiatek, who in synchronistical fashion, was born on February 19, 1981. The geyser has since been referred to by many as "Marcy's Geyser."
