Marcos Landeira Álvarez (born 2 May 1987 in Gijón, Asturias) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Sporting de Gijón as a midfielder.

Football career

A product of Sporting de Gijón's youth ranks, Landeira amassed 17 league appearances with the first team (including three in 2007–08, as the club returned to the top flight after ten years).

In the following campaign, he was loaned to UD Melilla in the third division, returning to Sporting's reserves - also in that division - in June 2009.

Landeira made his first division debut on April 17, 2010, starting in a 0–3 away loss against Sevilla FC. It would be his only appearance of the season, as Sporting once again managed to avoid relegation.

At the end of the 2010-2011 campaign he was loaned to Real Unión de Irún. He returned to Gijón without possibilities to play at the first team, that makes him accept the proposition of the club to play with the reserve team during the next season.
