Marc Twagirumukiza born in Gitarama (central Rwanda),on 4 December 1973; is a Rwandan physician and clinical pharmacology expert researcher at Ghent University, Belgium.
Professional and scientific background
He has graduated with PhD in clinical pharmacology from Ghent University, Belgium, and has academic records in public health,[1] experimental research,[2] and clinical research in medicine.[3][4] He served as lecturer at many African schools of Medicine (Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique, and Kenya among others). His principal area of interest is the access to medicines (availability, funding and supply chain, pricing and affordability, regulation and policies) in low and middle income countries[5] and primary health care,[6] and focus on drugs used in non-communicable diseases (cardiovascular diseases and hypertension in particular).[7]
International societies
Twagirumukiza Marc belongs to various international,[8] and Pan African scientific societies.[9][10] He was also one of the scientists who started the Pan African society of Hypertension, the consortium of health professionals and researchers active in field of arterial hypertension on African continent.
