Manuel Paner[1] (born May 17, 1949), better known as Manny Paner, is a former Filipino professional basketball player. Paner was born in Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines. He played for San Miguel in the Manila Industrial and Commercial Athletic Association and also in the Philippine Basketball Association for Royal/San Miguel, Great Taste, and CDCP. Paner also appeared at the Olympic Games as a member of the country's national basketball team. During his prime, he was known for his strong rebounding, defense and deadly hook shot. At a mere 6'2", he would play center and sometimes defend the opposing team's American imports. In 2000, Paner was named a member of the PBA's 25 Greatest Players.
His daughter Danita is an actress.
