- Mangal Ashtaka

Mangal Ashtaka is a form of mantra which is sung at the marriage ceremony in Maharashtra and Karnataka.
It always starts with the Ashtavinayak Vandana, which is as follows:
- Swasti Shri Gananayakam Gajamukham Moreshwara Siddhidam Ballalam Murudum
- Vinayaka Maham Chintamanim Thevaram | Lenyadrim Girijatmajam Suvaradam
- Vighneshwara Ojharam Grame Ranjananamake Ganapatihi
- Kuryat Sada Mangalam
There can be many other verses in between based on the number of enthusiastic singers present in the wedding ceremony. The last verse is always:
- tadeva lagnam sudinam tadeva, tára-balam chandra-balam tadeva vidyá balam daiva-balam tadeva, lakshmi-pateh tenghri yugam smarámi
- shubh lagna saavadhan! shubh mangal saavadhan!
