Manali Jagtap

Manali Jagtap (born in 1978, Kolhapur, India) is an award-winning graphic designer and fine artist. She currently lives and works in India and the United Kingdom.

After completing her studies at Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art, she moved to London in 2001 to design the publicity campaign for the Filmi Fundas Asian Film Festival.[1] In 2002, she collaborated with scientist Sarah Angliss to create a 70 minute projection for the Thinktank, Birmingham that celebrated 50 years of innovation in science and technology during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. The following year, she was part of the East Wing Collection, Courtauld Institute of Art (Somerset House, London) and her work was praised as “a microcosmic representation of the Collection itself”.[2]

Jagtap’s paintings are abstract and deal with human dynamics. She works with mixed media and is not bound by any one topic or style.

Through Urban Guru Ltd.,[3] Jagtap has also engaged in creative projects related to social and political issues. She has worked with the Forum on Early Warning and Early Response (FEWER) and International Conflict and Security (INCAS) Consulting Ltd.[4] on projects aimed at sensitising audiences on the impacts of conflict. As an ideator, she has conceptualised several initiatives and installations related to poverty among women and farmer suicides in Maharashtra (India).

Currently Manali Jagtap's artistic expression ranges from painting, ceramics, and conceptual installations.
