This article refers to the situation of Malnutrition in the Indian state of West Bengal. In West Bengal the severity of the hunger situation is considered to be alarming.

Statistics

In this state 38.5% of children are underweight 18.5% of the population is undernourished and 5.9% of children who die under the age of 5 die from hunger. [1]
