  • Maithili language, a language spoken in the eastern part of India and south - eastern part of Nepal and it is a second national language of Nepal. It belongs to the ancient Kingdom Mithila.
  • Mithilakshar, the script traditionally used for the Maithili language
  • Maithili Sharan Gupt (1886 - 1965), an eminent Hindi poet
