History
The Maiden Rock bantam was created by Daniel Powell of Maiden Rock, WI. Daniel Powell used Hamburg (chicken) bantams, Sebright bantams, Polish (chicken) bantams, Campine (chicken) bantams, and Araucana bantams to create the breed.
Characteristics
Mature Maiden Rock bantam hens weigh about two pounds and lay large eggs for a bantam breed. The combtype is unique to this breed and is the result of both the R and P alleles as well as the D^v allele. They have ether slate or willow legs.
