Jesse O. Sanderson was an American educator and former superintendent for the Wake County Public School System in North Carolina. Sanderson was wealthy and had a large impact on the public school system. In the year 1968, Jesse O. Sanderson High School was built and named in his honor after Sanderson's home burned to the ground in its location. Today the school is full of spirit. Its mascot is the Spartans and the school continues to expand physically and spiritually.
