Biography
At four years old, Friedrich moved with his family in Lübeck. in 1993 he obtained his Abitur (high school diploma) at the Johanneum. In later years he studied history and German in Göttingen. In 2004 Friedrich obtained his Ph.D. with a thesis on Middle High German. Jesko Friedrich started writings jokes for the show Freitag Nacht News already in 1999. After a stage in NDR Television, Friedrich was employed as editor of the Extra 3 show. Since 2003, together with Dennis Kaupp, he worked for the segment „Johannes Schlüter“. Jesko Friedrich played the role of Johannes Schlüter, a character with a new job for every episode (for example, CDU speaker, „Bushpilot“, peddler of flags ready to be burned by protesters). Schlüter was often interviewed by Kaupp. In 2009 the segment was awarded the Grimme-Preis.[1] From 2005 to 2008 Jesko Friedrich and Dennis Kaupp produced their own comedy show Sehr witzig for the NDR. Both acted as directors, authors and actors. Since 2009 he is together again with Kaupp in the show Dennis und Jesko, the follower of Sehr witzig. Furthermore Friedrich had a role in the short film trilogy Eine Nacht in Wilhelmsburg (2005, 2006 und 2007).[2]
