Gornja Kupčina is a village near Jastrebarsko, Croatia, population 148 (2011).[1]
It is primarily a farming community consisting of small, family operated farms. Wheat, vines,[clarification needed] and corn are the major crops. The farms also raise dairy cows, pigs, and chickens.
The village has a long history, but many residents have emigrated to Germany, the United States, Canada and other countries. Many homes are vacant and abandoned.[citation needed]
