Edge Michael is a singer/songwriter born Oral Mark Durloo, son of David Durloo and Melzeta McIntosh the sister of legendary reggae superstar, Peter Tosh.
In the early 1990s, as lead vocalist for Jah Children, Michael shared the stage and spotlight with a host of renowned reggae artists including Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, and Sanchez[disambiguation needed ]. Michael’s first studio recording was the self-composed, co-produced single, Try My Love, released in 1994, on The Crowd Pleaser record label.
In 1995, while performing lead vocals for Gumption, then the opening and backing band for reggae superstar, Beres Hammond, Michael recorded his second single - a cover of R Kelly’s Bump n Grind. 1996 saw the release of Michael’s first full-length LP, "Hard Road to Travel", self-composed, arranged, and produced. The album contained fourteen tracks of mostly love songs.
Throughout the mid-2000s, Michael toured in Western Europe, performing for audiences in France, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Holland, and Switzerland. He collaborated with the Austrian-based band, House of Riddim. Riding produced Michael’s third LP, Cornucopia, which was released in 2008, on the JAMZ Inc. label. Linkz FM 96 awarded Michael with their 2009 Album of the Year Award.
Michael’s latests project also on the Jamz Inc. label was released June 2011 features fourteen tracks of new material.
