Dugal is also a very common French-Canadian family name.

Dugal is also an Indian family name in the state of Maharashtra.

Dugal is also a family name amongst a few Sikh families in India who migrated from Rawalpindi area of what is now Pakistan in 1947.

As a given name, the boy's name Dugal is a variant of the Celtic name Dougal, meaning "dark stranger".
