Dressed Like Wolves Background information Origin Teesside Genres Folk Years active 2009–present Website www.dressedlikewolves.bandcamp.com Members Rick Dobbing, Matthew Neil, Daniel Allen Dressed Like Wolves is the recording project of Teesside based songwriter Rick Dobbing and friend Matthew Neil. They began to track songs together at home in early 2009, shortly afterwards playing a handful of local shows. After collecting instruments and recording equipment, the band recorded and self released their first full length 'I Could Walk on Water, But I'd Rather Part the Sea'.[1] It was met with praise from internet blogs[2] and radio stations, appearing on several podcasts and personal Top 100 lists of the year.[3] In the following months, they made appearances on both online/CD based music compilations[4][5][6][7] and local radio station BBC Tees. Subsequently, they recorded a short EP during summer 2010, and soon after released a second full length, 'Sometimes You've Got To Stop Caving And Melt'[8] in April 2011. In June 2011, they were featured in online showcase BalconyTV.[9]
A split release is planned for late 2011 on US label Foxpop Recording Co, as part of their cassingle subscription club revival.[10] In the meantime, Rick is currently recording his third set of songs with Matthew, whilst playing occasional shows with third member Daniel.
