Currently active in more than 40 countries, Dreams and Teams has become a platform for Young Leaders to plan, organise and deliver sports festival for hundreds of young people.[1] In 2005, Malaysian young leaders in collaboration with UK young leaders had successfully organised environmental project called “Mangrove replanting – One student One Tree” which officiated by Miss Suzanna Galvan the then Director of Education and Training British Council Malaysia.[2] The event received special coverage by nation’s TV1 and also highlighted in national and local newspapers. Though, the significant of the project is the marking of a new adventure by young leaders in both countries in demonstrating their leadership skills beyond the confines of sports but also through various community projects. Dreams and Teams provides platform to explore together, through sport and other community projects, issues such as equity, cultural diversity, inclusion, religion, ethics, global citizenship and communication. Dreams + Teams encourages the Young Leaders to work with their international counterparts via e-mail, video conferencing and face-to-face contact, bringing an international and cross-cultural understanding to everything they do - thinking globally while acting locally. Indeed, Dreams and Teams puts challenge international young leaders to demonstrate leadership, be active citizen in their community and value as well as promote cross cultural understanding.
