Dr Zaheer Tishna Memorial School commonly known as ZTMS is a non-profitable school which was established in the year 2006. It is located in Sherghati in the district of Gaya, Bihar, India.It was built in the fond memory of Late Dr Zahirul Hassan who was of the view that underprivileged have the right to education.

The school aims at providing quality education to the strength of more than 300 students and about 100 of them are provided with free education.The school also encourages multimedia means of learning,inter school competitions,sports and other cultural programs also.

This is the first school in Sherghati sub-division to get an ISO 9001-2008 certificate.Also it is the first school in the area to start comprehensive multimedia learning which includes audio visual teaching for the students of classes LKG to 8th for the overall development of the students.

The current principal of the school is Mr Kamal Mustafa, the chief administrator is Prof Salman Balkhi and the chairman of the school is Mr Syed Afroz Ahsan Quadri

History

ZTMS was built by the sons of Dr Zahirul Hassan in the year 2006.The school started with the strength of 43 students and 3 staff members.The campus includes classes from LKG TO 8th.

Academics

The school follows the CBSE based NCERT curriculum.It is an English medium school which includes the following subjects:-

• Physical Education

Facilities

The school has a well constructed building with spacious classrooms,well equipped library,a sports field, multimedia center,a multipurpose hall and computer labs to give the students a platform in every field.The school also offers bus transportation for students across the region of Sherghati.

The school has a very active Student Council which takes command of all the matters of the school.This council is made to build the leadership qualities and improve the communication skills of the students. The school also publishes its Annual Magazine every year.The magazine flaunts the artistic and the writing skills of the students.It also gives the overview of the activities that were held within the campus the previous year.

Multimedia Center

The Multimedia Center of ZTMS was inaugurated by Miss Ashima Jain (SDM of Sherghati) on 24th July 2011.This center is well equipped with computers and laptops.It is completely based on multimedia education of comprehensive and interesting e-learning.The higher standard classrooms are accommodated with LCDS to support a better way of learning.
