Dr Mark Bagshaw is an Australian business man and disability advocate.[1] Since 2007, he has been the Managing Director of Innov8 Consulting Group, which conducts strategic business consulting, primarily in the social sector, with a focus on social reform and social inclusion.
After majoring in economics and psychology at the University of Sydney he joined IBM where he had a long career in marketing, management and executive roles, including International Marketing Manager, Client Executive and Business Development Executive.[2]
As a result of a spinal cord injury at age 16 Mark has used a wheelchair all of his adult life. He is involved in advocacy for people with a disability, especially in the arenas of employment[3] and accessibility.[4] He was Co-Chair, National VET Disability Advisory Taskforce 2007 to 2008; Co-Chair, Australian Disability Training Advisory Council 2002 to 2005. Bagshaw is a Don't DIS my ABILITY ambassador.
Bagshaw featured on the Australian Broadcasting Commission's Australian Story in 1997 and 2001.[5] He also appeared on ABC Classic FM's 'Mornings with Margaret Throsby' in 2000.[6]
He has been recognised by numerous national and international awards including an Australian Humanitarian Award and an Honorary Doctorate from Griffith University. Bagshaw was also an Australian 2020 Summit Participant.
