Merrill Goozner, an independent author and writer, formerly directed the Integrity in Science project at the Center for Science in the Public Interest (www.integrityinscience.org). He is a former chief Asia, chief financial, and chief economics correspondent for the Chicago Tribune. He was a professor of journalism at New York University from 2000-03. Goozner is the author of The $800 Million Pill: The Truth Behind the Cost of New Drugs (ISBN 0-520-23945-8). Goozner writes on a variety of health care and economic topics, including Stem Cell research, pharmaceutical industry and health economics.
Born in 1950 in New York City, Goozner graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1975 and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in 1982.
