The District of Setúbal (pron. IPA2|sɨ'tubaɫ or [IPA|sɨ'tubɐɫ] ) is located in the Southwestern of Portugal, the District Capital is the city of Setúbal.Other cities:Alcacer do Sal,Almada,Amora,Barreiro,Costa da Caparica,Montijo,Seixal,Santiago do Cacem,Sines and Vila Nova de Santo Andre.

It is delimited by the districts of Lisbon and Santarém on the north, the district of Évora on the east, the district of Beja on the south and the Atlantic Ocean on the west.

It has an area of 5064 km², and a population of 789,459 inhabitants.

It is composed by 13 municipalities,sub divided in two sub regions :

The district of Setúbal is also the district with most criminality in the country, mostly because of the Setúbal peninsula zone, which has a cheaper real estate business than Lisbon (5km distance in some places) that allows opressed working classes to buy their own houses and it is also cheaper to build the projects there.
