Dora Levy Mossanen is the author of Harem[1] and LA Times best-seller [2]Courtesan,[3] published by Simon & Schuster,[4] and writes in the genre of historical fiction.

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, she grew up in Tehran, Iran where she remained until the onset of the Islamic Revolution[5] when her family fled to the United States. Dora Levy Mossanen is also the granddaughter of Dr. Habib Levy, a well known Middle Eastern historian.

Dora Levy Mossanen is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post,[6] has been featured in various media: radio (KCRW[7]: The Politics of Culture), TV, and blogs.[8] and has her books translated into more than 10 different languages.
