Donnybrook Stadium is a rugby union stadium in Donnybrook, Dublin 4, Ireland.

Usage

The ground is the former home stadium of Leinster Rugby (who now play in the nearby RDS Arena) and they still play friendly games in Donnybrook. The Ireland A, Ireland Women's Team[1] and Leinster schools and underage sides of all ages play home games in the stadium.

Old Wesley and Bective Rangers, two local club sides also play in Donnybrook.[2] The ground is famous for its storied involvement in the Leinster Schools Senior and Junior Cups and hosts several games in each competition each year.[3] The ground also hosts games for Leinster Rugby's youth teams.

The stadium hosted a Michael Bublé concert in July 2008.

Stadium Information

The stadium has a capacity of 6,000[4] with a single, 2,500 seater stand. A new grandstand (pictured) was completed in early 2008. Plans were also launched in the summer of 2007 to construct a stand to the east of the ground. However due to strong local objections about the proposed height of the new stand and the reluctance to lose the current tennis facilities located on the proposed new site of the stand, the idea was scrapped before it reached the planning stage.[citation needed].
